Rooted Wellness Workshop Series: Power of Strawberries

This event offers a remarkable opportunity to understand the Cultural Teaching of the Strawberry moon, which happens to fall on Indigenous people’s day (June 21) this year all from the comfort of your own home.

Guided by Grandma Kim Wheatley, participants will follow along virtually as she navigates the steps of making Strawberry Juice. This event provides a unique platform to appreciate the history and significance of the strawberry to the Indigenous peoples of Canada.

Language Series: Intro to Mohawk

Thurs, June 13 & Thurs, June 27, 2024 – 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM ET – VIRTUAL

Mohawk is a language spoken by the Mohawk people, who are members of the Iroquois Confederacy. It is part of the larger Iroquoian language family, which also includes languages such as Cayuga and Oneida.

During our Rivers to Success language series, you will learn the foundations of the Mohawk language, including essential phrases, vocabulary, and correct pronunciation. Our experienced language instructor, Raven Tabobabdung, will guide you through interactive lessons and provide additional resources for practice.
